Flourish Supported Hardware, Networking, and Vendors

Supported & Recommended Hardware:

Flourish is web-based and can be accessed by almost any computer running a modern web browser. We do recommend that you utilize the Google Chrome browser as Flourish has been optimized using this browser.

For production systems using peripherals like receipt printers, label printers, scales, etc; systems running Windows 10 and 11 are the only ones supported.

Label Printers

This is applicable for non-retail and retail clients.

  • Flourish Support Zebra Label Printers. Any printer must support ZPL.
  • Flourish Integration via CYBRA's MarkMagic supports these: Supported Printers List | CYBRA

Labels

The Zebra printers support a variety of labels.

Plant Tags

Option 1: Zebra Printer + Tag. Manually apply the label to the tag and tag the plants.

  • One of the printers above
  • White Tyvek® Tags - #6, 5 1⁄4 x 2 5⁄8", Pre-wired (There are options for the tag size)
  • Label to fit on the tag (2" label for the above)
  • An alternative is a Snap Lock 5" Pin Security Loop Plastic Tag Fastener instead of a pre-wired tag

Option 2: Agricultural Tag Printer

  • Zebra ZT421 Industrial Printer
  • Pair with 7” x 1” wrap-around cultivation tags

POS Terminals

  • Windows PC:
    • OS: Windows 10 & 11 are supported.
    • Minimum Hardware: 8 GB RAM, 128 GB Storage, 3 x USB-A, Ethernet.
  • Microsoft Surface Pro 7 - 12.3” Touchscreen
    • Minimum Hardware: 10th Gen Intel Core i5 - 8GB Memory, 128GB SSD.

POS Receipt Printers

  • Flourish Supports Epson Printers. Printers must support ESC/POS.
  • Current: *Pending Final Testing
    • Epson TM-T88VII Thermal Receipt Printer (C31CJ57052)
  • Legacy:
    • ​Epson TM-T88V, Epson TM-T88VI Thermal Receipt Printer
  • Not supported for new installations:
    • STAR: TSP-100iii & TSP-143 Thermal Receipt Printers
      Star was supported by Flourish Software for many years until pivoting to Epson in 2022. Historically supported Star models (USB connection only) may, and likely will still work. Due to how Star handles different printer commands via network connections, along with different cable functionality, Star Printers were more complex to support than Epson. We want the best customer experience for our customers, their customers, and our support and development teams, so we switched to discontinuing Star support in favor of Epson. If you have a historically compatible USB Star printer and can configure it to work, Flourish will not actively disable that support or use. However, this is at your own risk. Flourish cannot support troubleshooting efforts or upgrade to code to support Star connectivity issues.

Flatbed Scanners

Use this for scanning patient/customer documentation in retail (or for other general business documentation scanning). Flourish does not have a scanner integration at this time. Choose a scanner that can scan to a network drive and upload the document to the Flourish application.

Mobile Device Scanners

Flourish Mobile application runs on Android OS 10 and above.

We strongly recommend Zebra handheld scanners for their superior durability with integrated scanning.

Weigh Scales

While not integrated, we do recommend the Ohaus Ranger 3000 Series

For Flourish compatible hardware, physical & network security, managed services, and technology development & consulting; we encourage our customers to use our Preferred IT & Managed Service Providers found here.

Network Infrastructure:

As Flourish is a cloud hosted application, having a fast, reliable, and secure network infrastructure is necessary to support operations. below are best practices to provide those that environment.

  • Hardware all equipment into the network.
  • All wiring should be​ Cat5e, or higher​ cabling, shielded as necessary, and properly terminated.
  • For self-managed networks we recommend reviewing and training on PCI Merchant Resources including PCI Firewall Basics.
  • Segregated Networks, Physical (preferred) or Logically, for Retail, Payments, General Operations, and Staff.
